Scanner & QR Detector does not collect, store or transmit any personal data.
The documents you scan, the PDFs you create, the QR codes you read and your app preferences stay on your device. We have no access to them. The app has no server, needs no account, shows no ads and gathers no usage statistics.
1. Data we collect
None.
The app never asks for your name, email address, phone number, location or any other personal information. There is no sign-up and no sign-in. No advertising identifier, device identifier or cookie is used. No analytics or crash-reporting service is integrated.
2. Where your data lives
Everything you create in the app is stored in your device's private, app-specific storage:
| Data | Where | When it is removed |
|---|---|---|
| Scanned page images | App directory on your device | When you delete the document |
| Generated PDF files | App directory on your device | When you delete or rename the document |
| Document names and ordering | Local database on your device | When you delete the document |
| QR history (off by default) | Local database on your device | When you delete it |
| Theme and scanning preferences | Local database on your device | When you uninstall the app |
All of it is removed when you uninstall the app.
3. Internet use
The app does not use an internet connection to perform its functions. Your documents are never uploaded to any server. Scanning, editing, PDF creation and file management all work fully offline.
4. Device permissions
Camera. Required to scan documents and QR codes. Permission is requested the first time you start a scan, not when the app launches. The camera runs only while a scanning screen is open. Images never leave your device.
Photos and Files. When you want to build a document from an image you already have, your operating system's own picker opens. The app only ever sees the file you select; it has no access to your whole photo library.
The app does not request microphone, location, contacts, calendar or health access.
6. QR codes and safety
The content of a scanned QR code is never opened, dialled or executed automatically. The result is shown on screen first, so you can inspect the address and any safety warnings. A hand-off to the operating system happens only when you tap, and only for permitted address types (https, http, mailto, tel, sms).
Scanned content is not recorded. The QR history feature is off by default; if you turn it on, entries are kept only on your device and you can delete them individually or all at once at any time.
7. Children
Because the app collects no data, it collects no data from children either.
8. Third parties
No advertising network, analytics service, crash reporter or cloud storage provider is integrated into the app. We do not share your data with anyone, because we do not have your data.
9. Your rights
Your data is yours alone and entirely under your control. You can delete a document or a QR entry from inside the app, and remove everything by uninstalling it. Since we hold no data about you, there is no need to send us an access, correction or deletion request.
10. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the “Last updated” date above will change with it. If a future change ever required the app to collect data, that will be stated explicitly.
